MUSEUM IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED. But it was a great one! I’m glad I could make this video of the fantastic collection.

This is an impressive 30,000-square-foot museum in two buildings dedicated to classic cars, dragsters, cars from movies and TV, and much more! Everything in the museum has been completely restored to museum new quality and masterfully lit up as a treat to the senses. I have never seen such beautiful vintage gas pumps in my life! They are indeed works of art.

Only $5 for adults and kids 12 and under are free! This is just one of (8) excellent museums in Evansville, Indiana. (Also see the Evansville Art Science and History Museum, Transportation Museum, Reitz Mansion, African American Museum, Angel Mounds, Children Museum, and Wartime Museum)

Have you ever said to yourself, “If I had a lot of money, I would travel, see the world, have a good time, and collect things I like”? The Dream Car Museum in Evansville, Indiana, is pretty much the realization of that kind of dream. This fantastic collection of cars and car memorabilia starts outside with funny cars on top of the building. Inside the 30,000-square-foot museum is a Motorhead’s Fantasyland and much more. There are dragsters, classic motorcycles, crazy American artifacts, McDonald’s nostalgia, and life-size Simpsons, but that’s just a warm-up.

Have you ever seen a classic car made into a desk, classic barber chairs, or a kid-sized helicopter? It’s all here. The collection is so extensive that it’s housed in two garages. There’s the Herbie Volkswagen, the General Lee, and many other vehicles from movies and TV. You look at some of these and want to drive them home. This used to be a fully functioning repair and maintenance shop, and they’ve faithfully preserved that. Here, you can buy almost anything on display, and all of these items have been restored to museum quality as if they were brand new. Look at this classic Ford Mustang made into a bar. Part two of this fantastic museum is across the street and included in your admission. It’s genuinely like nothing you’ve ever seen before. You may remember the BMW from “The Fast and the Furious.” But the thing that impressed me was these classic gas pumps. They are absolute works of art. I’ve never seen this many in one place in my entire life. The Dream Car Museum of Evansville is open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 5:00 and is only $5 for adults; kids 12 and under are free. It’s truly worth a visit.
